Thing 20: Twitter

I have just signed up for Twitter and left my first tweet. I followed a few of my family and friends. This is exciting!

Thing 6: Ning

Delicious Bookmarking

I have been exploring the Delicious site. I searched for project based learning and Cognitively Guided Instruction. I am not sure that I will use this at this time due to a lack of comfort with finding information this way.

Project Based Learning

Project based learning is something that I have not done in years. I would like to explore this issue again this year because teachers in our district are being trained in project based learning. I wonder if there is a project that would work in the math lab when I only see K-6 students for 40 minutes each week. I would like to think about the possibilities for spreading a project out over time.

Thing 8

I have just discovered Creative Commons (CC). I was unaware that this existed. This will greatly affect our students and us as educators as well. Seeing the CC will mean permission has already been granted although some rights may be reserved. The possibilities for an outstanding product increase when you are able to build on the creative genious of others.

Thing 4

I have been learning about my reader. One site that I have been following is K-12 Learning. It has good ideas for math lessons, such as activities to do with The Polar Express.

Thing 3

Today I explored many blogs. Will Richardson's "What Did You Create Today?" struck a cord with me. He has thought provoking questions that he would like to ask his children about what they learn each day.
